For Reid’s birthday I decided to take him to Disneyland. He is obsessed with Mickey Mouse so I knew he would be in heaven. Just Reid and I went so we had some great Mommy, Reid time and we had the best time ever. I was a little nervous to go by myself but it turned out to be ok. My sister had a free pass so I got to use that and Reid is still free so we got to go for nothing. He loved everything and couldn’t get enough. All he said all day was, “Wow, Mommy, wow!” It was the cutest thing ever and I’m so glad I got to go with him. I’m sure there will be many more trips to Disneyland after the baby comes but it was nice to get a trip with just the two of us.

2!!!!!!
It is Reid’s birthday today and I just can’t believe he is already two! He has grown up so much this past year and it’s just crazy to me when I look over and see a little boy instead of my baby. He is just the sweetest little boy and we have so much fun together everyday. I am so lucky that I get to stay home with him and be with him everyday. He makes my life so much better and so full of love.
I am amazed at how fast they grow up and he is my little buddy. He talks to me nonstop throughout the day and is getting so independent. He understands everything Wes says to him in Spanish and even is starting to talk back to him using some Spanish words. I am so happy that he is bilingual and I can’t believe it actually worked and that Wes kept it up. He doesn’t talk at all to him in English and it has really paid off. I think it’s the cutest thing when he says some words in Spanish. I’m even learning along with him and can understand when Wes talks to Reid most of the time. If he talks to an adult it’s an entirely different story but it’s better than nothing!
He now has to do everything himself with is good and bad. He has to turn off every switch in the house, buckle his own car seat, put on his shoes and so forth. It is annoying most of the time because it takes 4 times longer but I know he is just learning and that it’s good for him. He is also learning his letters and numbers and it started cause he wanted to. He always points to letters and asks what they are and can identify most numbers if shown a picture of them. He can identify o and s and so whenever he sees them he has to stop whatever he’s doing and show me. It is so sweet and I’m so glad that he wants to learn so much.
I swear that I could write a book about everything that is going on in his life right now (the same as all moms!). He is just the most perfect little man and I just love him to pieces. I can’t imagine my life without him and he just makes our family so much more complete. He is the joy in our lives and I just love him to pieces. I know he will be the best big brother and will help me so much with this baby. Happy birthday to my sweet angel!!!

It’s a…….
BOY!!! We are so happy that Reid will be expecting a little brother early October!! Wes and I were surprised when we found out cause we both thought we were having a girl so it was fun to be surprised. I know Reid is going to be so happy to have a little brother to play with and I love my boy so adding another one will just be perfect. I feel like our family is complete with this little one coming into our lives and I’m half way there already so he will be here before we even know it! We are still looking for a house right now and have a few offers on some so we are crossing our fingers that we get the perfect house for our perfect little family!

Blueberries
It is blueberry time and since Reid is a blueberry fanatic we decided to go to a farm in Moorpark and pick some fresh blueberries. My sister, Jessica, her kids and my mom all came with us to enjoy the yummy berries. It was a beautiful day and we were ready pick as many berries as we could. It was the very beginning of the season so there were tons of berries. We all filled a few containers full with them and ate as many as we gathered! We all left with full bellies and a car full of fresh blueberries. It was a great day and so fun to do something different with the kids. We will definitely be going back for raspberry and strawberry season!
Crazy bee swarm in the raspberry bushes
the blueberries were huge and so good! they tasted like candy
fun tractor ride back to the car

Spring Break
As I am sure you know by now we LOVE Carpinteria Beach. We go all the time and this year my mom got a spot during Spring Break so we decided to go up and have some fun with everyone. There were lots of families there that we knew so it was super fun for the kids to play with everyone. My sister’s kids were there with Grandma so Reid was in heaven playing with his cousins.
Since Reid is getting older we decided to stay a little longer then we usually do. We usually only stay one night but I decided to bump it to two nights and three days. I just got into my 2nd trimester so I was feeling lots better too. He did great and even took his nap everyday without any complaint. We had such great weather and I was so glad we were able to go. He had so much fun and was laughing and running around the whole time. Wes got to come up the day we were leaving so it was extra fun to have him up there for the day.
He loved playing at the beach and riding his bike in the campsite. He had such a blast but by the last day he was worn out. He was a little whiney and so I was glad Wes was there to take over for me cause I was a little whiney too! We had the best time and I can’t wait for summer!
My mom got him his own mummy bag and I was shocked when he wanted to actually sleep in it. He slept in it great both nights without any problems. I think he looks like a little glow worm in it.
He was so tired when we left that he refused to take off his helmet in the car so we let him keep it on. About 30 seconds after we drove off he fell asleep and looked like a bobble head.

Big Changes
We are going through some big changes this coming year and we are excited and nervous for all of them. First, we are expecting our second baby at the beginning of October! It was a huge surprise and we are so excited to add a new member to our family. Reid is excited as well even though I don’t think that he really understands what is happening. When you ask him where the baby is he will point to my stomach and try to lift up my shirt to see the baby. He also loves to give the baby kisses which is just the cutest. I know he is going to love being a big brother and they will be great friends. Reid is definitely not an only child type of kid and he will love having a sibling. I can’t wait to find out what I am having. I was 100% sure Reid was going to be a boy but with this baby I’m not so sure of what they are going to be so we are excited for that surprise.
If having a new baby isn’t enough we are also trying to buy a house. That is always super stressful and hard but throw in a cranky, sick wife and a almost two year old and it will bring any grown man to tears! It has been a bit stressful but Wes has been amazing at dealing with it all while I try not to move around too much. Hoping everything works out the way that we want it to and that everything falls into place so we can move into a bigger house. We are outgrowing our condo with just three of us in it and I can't imagine having to add another person to the mix. So many changes going on in our lives right now but we couldn’t be more thrilled for everything to happen!

Travel Town
This past Tuesday we decided to do something different and we headed to Travel Town. It is a little train museum down by Griffith Park and I thought Reid would love it because he has been so into trains lately. Wes was off so we made it into a family day. It was fun to get out of the house and see some cool old trains. Reid loved it and couldn’t get enough. It was definitely a fun day!
