I wanted some newborn pictures done of Tyler and my brother-in-law, Steve offered to take some pictures for me. He did a great job and they turned out so cute. I swear I have the cutest boys on the planet and I could not be any more grateful for them. I just love them to pieces!
We are happy to announce the arrival of our sweet little boy on September 19th at 2:29 am. I had been having contractions for about a week and a half and two days before we actually went to the hospital thinking it was time. I was having regular contractions but wasn’t progressing so they sent me home. A couple days later the contractions were a lot stronger and I was having them all day so when I couldn’t take it anymore we decided to head to the hospital again. This time I was definitely in labor and we were going home with our sweet little boy.
About two hours after we arrived at the hospital I was able to get the epidural which was heaven. I could still feel a lot with Reid after the epidural but this time I was completely numb. I thought I was going to get a little rest but after only about an hour and a half to two hours my water broke and I was fully dilated. I had to wait for the doctor to get there and after two contractions and about 4 pushes he was here. It was the easiest delivery and such a huge contrast to what I experienced with Reid. I was happy and smiling the whole time and didn’t feel a thing. It was amazing!
Our new sweet little boy is the cutest and we fell in love immediately. I didn’t think I would be able to love anyone else as much as I do Reid but I was amazed that I love him just the same. We are so happy to have our second little boy here and I know that we are going to have the best time raising our two boys together. They already love each other and Reid talks about his new baby brother all the time and has to tell everyone. It is such a miracle to have two wonderful, perfect little boys and we could not be happier.

So I’m trying to catch up on blogging so I have a few posts to catch up on. Back in the middle of May I threw a baby shower for my sister, Jessica. Her pregnancy was pretty difficult and so I wanted to have some fun during it so she wouldn’t remember it as all bad. My mom was nice enough for me to have it at her house and she helped so much. I ordered the decorations from Etsy and they turned out great. Everything was fantastic and it was the first shower I have ever done so I was pretty impressed with myself. We had amazing cupcakes for Bake You Happy and yummy food. I think Jessica had a good time and it was fun just to spend time with friends.
A few weeks later sweet little Brandon was born and has had some hardships. Today is the day he is getting his heart surgery to fix a heart defect. He has been in and out of the hospital since he was born and he is a little trooper. Jessica has been amazing the whole way, balancing her two older kids and her new baby. He has had to eat with a feeding tube so we are all hoping that after his heart is fixed that he will be able to eat better and that all his problems will be gone. We all love him so much and can’t wait for him to be all patched up and fixed. So grateful that he is here and he is an amazing little addition to our growing family!
I have been so bad with updating my blog lately and it’s mostly due to the fact that my computer barely works. I figured I needed to post a pregnancy post before I deliver and it’s coming up so fast I figured it was now or never.
I can’t believe that I am 34 weeks already. This pregnancy has gone by so fast, especially considering I delivered Reid at 36! I actually got us to take some pictures of the belly thanks to my wonderful brother-in-law who agreed to snap some pictures of us. I am so happy with how they turned out but I still can’t believe that we are going to have another baby soon.
I don’t feel old enough to be a mother to two kids and it is stressing me out a little bit to try to imagine me juggling two boys. I know that it will work out and I’m sure I will do fine, especially since I have an idea of what I am doing this time. Anyway, this pregnancy has been pretty great. I was really sick during my first trimester but after that it was smooth sailing up until a couple weeks ago. I am starting to get uncomfortable and I am having mixed feelings because I would really like to not be pregnant anymore but I am not ready for this baby to come! We are still waiting to hear back on the house that we have an offer on so that has been a big stress and distraction since I don’t know what is going to happen with that. I did, however, move Reid out of the crib and put him in a toddler bed so that the baby would have a place to sleep. Getting his little room ready for another addition was a bit tricky but I think we figured it out for the time being. Things are starting to fall into place more and I’m feeling better about the baby coming everyday. I know Reid will be excited to have the baby here (at least for a little bit) and it will be good to just face my fears! It is definitely a fun, stressful, and exciting time in our lives. I think I just need to hold on and enjoy the ride!
For Reid’s birthday I decided to take him to Disneyland. He is obsessed with Mickey Mouse so I knew he would be in heaven. Just Reid and I went so we had some great Mommy, Reid time and we had the best time ever. I was a little nervous to go by myself but it turned out to be ok. My sister had a free pass so I got to use that and Reid is still free so we got to go for nothing. He loved everything and couldn’t get enough. All he said all day was, “Wow, Mommy, wow!” It was the cutest thing ever and I’m so glad I got to go with him. I’m sure there will be many more trips to Disneyland after the baby comes but it was nice to get a trip with just the two of us.
It is Reid’s birthday today and I just can’t believe he is already two! He has grown up so much this past year and it’s just crazy to me when I look over and see a little boy instead of my baby. He is just the sweetest little boy and we have so much fun together everyday. I am so lucky that I get to stay home with him and be with him everyday. He makes my life so much better and so full of love.
I am amazed at how fast they grow up and he is my little buddy. He talks to me nonstop throughout the day and is getting so independent. He understands everything Wes says to him in Spanish and even is starting to talk back to him using some Spanish words. I am so happy that he is bilingual and I can’t believe it actually worked and that Wes kept it up. He doesn’t talk at all to him in English and it has really paid off. I think it’s the cutest thing when he says some words in Spanish. I’m even learning along with him and can understand when Wes talks to Reid most of the time. If he talks to an adult it’s an entirely different story but it’s better than nothing!
He now has to do everything himself with is good and bad. He has to turn off every switch in the house, buckle his own car seat, put on his shoes and so forth. It is annoying most of the time because it takes 4 times longer but I know he is just learning and that it’s good for him. He is also learning his letters and numbers and it started cause he wanted to. He always points to letters and asks what they are and can identify most numbers if shown a picture of them. He can identify o and s and so whenever he sees them he has to stop whatever he’s doing and show me. It is so sweet and I’m so glad that he wants to learn so much.
I swear that I could write a book about everything that is going on in his life right now (the same as all moms!). He is just the most perfect little man and I just love him to pieces. I can’t imagine my life without him and he just makes our family so much more complete. He is the joy in our lives and I just love him to pieces. I know he will be the best big brother and will help me so much with this baby. Happy birthday to my sweet angel!!!
BOY!!! We are so happy that Reid will be expecting a little brother early October!! Wes and I were surprised when we found out cause we both thought we were having a girl so it was fun to be surprised. I know Reid is going to be so happy to have a little brother to play with and I love my boy so adding another one will just be perfect. I feel like our family is complete with this little one coming into our lives and I’m half way there already so he will be here before we even know it! We are still looking for a house right now and have a few offers on some so we are crossing our fingers that we get the perfect house for our perfect little family!
